Training and Capacity Building

Recognizing that skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development, TARA Livelihood Academy (TLA) a vehicle to impart skills: focuses on short, relevant and effective courses that would get candidates into the workplace, i.e. skill training must ensure a job for those who seek it. TLA works with industrial tie ups to ensure jobs after imparting the training

TARA Livelihood Academy (TLA) offers comprehensive training programmes on issues related to its developmental activities. TLA sees training not as an end in itself, but as part of a larger process that includes application of learning into development activities

Training and Capacity building services of TARA are divided in three given below categories.

  • Employability skills: Committed to making rural youth employable by imparting various skills and ensuring livelihood security through exposure to income generating opportunities.
  • Entrepreneurship Development: Involves imparting necessary skills to youth and women in order to build entrepreneurial attitudes and help them establish their own micro-enterprises.
  • Executive Know-how: Caters to the needs of mid-career executives and managers from NGO’s, Government and Private Sector to upgrade their knowledge and skills in various domains of sustainable development.
Customized Courses:

To maximise the utility of training for participants, TLA provides customized trainings on specific topics relating to its core areas, in which it customises trainings to the specific requirements of participating individuals or organizations. These specially designed trainings enable the participants to adapt their learning and field observations so as to meet their organizational and professional development needs.

Significant Achievements:
  • As many as 300 training programmes conducted since the year 2000
  • More than 10,000 people trained so far
  • Various courses accredited by the Central Government, State governments and agencies like Microsoft etc.
  • MoU signed with the Government of Uttar Pradesh for skill development
  • Received Vocational Training Providers license from the Ministry of Labour and Employment in Bundelkhand

TLA has undertaken many projects to impart training and capacity building service. Currently TARA Livelihood Academy is working on “Capacity Building and Training of PNGOs and NSOs” of Uttar Pradesh for the Forest Department of Government of Uttar Pradesh

Under this project JICA is funding Government of Uttar Pradesh, department of Forest for Joint Forest Management and Poverty Alleviation. In order to do that Forest department has engaged different NGOs as a service provider and facilitating the project implementation. The responsibility for Capacity Building & providing training to the NGOs personnel’s is given to TARA Livelihood Academy.

Around 300 people’s capacity is built on different areas like, Livelihood Security Enhancement, Income Generation Activities, Management of forest committees, preparation of micro plan etc.
